As I am writing, it is drizzling outside. I love winters in Cape Town but saying that, rain has been forecast for the rest of the week and by then, I might have changed my mind.
Camps Bay is a great place to be in winter. There is no traffic, you can always get a table at the restaurants in Camps Bay Village and the restaurants usually offers specials.
If you are visiting Camps Bay during winter and it is raining, I suggest you:
Order a hot chocolate in the bar at the Bay Hotel. The view of Camps Bay beach is fantastic and Cassim, the barman is extremely friendly and entertaining.
Visit the Rose Korber Art gallery at no 48 Sedgemoor Road, Camps Bay. http://www.rosekorberart.com/
Watch a show at The Theatre on the Bay at no 1 Link Street, Camps Bay. There are matinee shows on a Saturday and then performances most evenings of the week. https://www.theatreonthebay.co.za/
For those in the mood to do some exercise while on holiday – you can play squash, go for yoga lessons in the scout’s hall in the Little Glen in Camps Bay or practise Pilates.
If you are renting a villa or apartment in Camps Bay and you would like to snuggle up with a DVD, you can hire one at the shop on the corner of Rottingdean and Totness Avenue. They also sell great pastries and imported chocolates.
Whatever you decide to do, enjoy and keep warm!
