Camps Bay is known for its beach, but there is plenty to do beyond it, whether you want to stay active or simply relax.
Stay active
Hiking. The Twelve Apostles rise directly behind Camps Bay, with trails like Kasteelspoort and Woody Ravine starting a short walk from the beachfront.
Padel. Padel has become one of the most popular sports in the area, with courts available at venues like The Bay Hotel and Camps Bay Retreat, both a short drive or walk from most of Camps Bay.
Tennis. Camps Bay Tennis Club offers courts for guests who want a game during their stay.
Walking or cycling on the promenade. The palm-lined promenade along the beachfront is ideal for a morning walk, a run, or a relaxed cycle, with the ocean on one side and the mountains on the other.
Cold plunge. Cold water immersion has become a popular wellness ritual here, and the Atlantic Ocean itself, cold year round, doubles as a natural cold plunge for those who enjoy it.
Gym. Several gyms operate in and around Camps Bay for guests who want to keep up a regular training routine during their stay.
Wellness and personal services
We can arrange personal trainers to work with you directly, and yoga instruction in the privacy of your own villa or apartment, if you would rather not join a public class.
For those who prefer a studio setting, Camps Bay also has yoga studios, along with a number of beauty salons and spas offering massages, facials, and other treatments.
Eating and relaxing
Victoria Road is lined with restaurants and coffee shops, from casual all-day cafés to beachfront dining with sunset views. It is easy to spend an evening moving between a coffee, a walk, and dinner without ever needing a car.
Why this matters for your stay
Because all of our properties are within walking distance of the beach and the main strip, you can move easily between all of these activities, a hike in the morning, padel in the afternoon, dinner on Victoria Road in the evening, without needing to plan transport around any of it.
