I was sad to read that Oscar de la Renta, the legendary fashion designer has passed away at the age of 82.

My in-laws were guests in his beachfront villa in the Dominican Republic and they said it was totally amazing.  They would cultivate orchids and when guests arrive, they will tie the orchids to the palm trees, either side of the drive, so that you can appreciate the fragrance and the beauty of the flowers on arrival.

Oscar de la Renta and his wife, Annette had contributed to the hard work to establish the beautiful large garden.

On the property is also Casa Eliza, where Annette’s daughter, Eliza stays with her husband when they visit.

They also own an apartment in Manhattan.
