Mountain trail in Camps Bay
Just before lock-down an amazing new mountain bike path was cleared on the mountain, above Camps Bay.
From Camps Bay Drive, turn up Rontree Avenue and drive all the way to the top and turn right into Theresa Avenue. Follow Theresa Avenue all the way to the end of the cul de sac. There you cut across the clearing on the path towards the trees. Have fun and ride the path all the way to above the Twelve Apostles where you need to turn back.
On the way back you can take the left fork which comes out at Otawa Road.
It is a single track and can be quite technical with switch backs, rock gardens, sudden inclines etc.
Enjoy a coffee either at the Rontree petrol station (I know this sounds grim but you pass it on your way back, if you are driving and they have a small outside seating area) or you can buy delicious pastries at the Camps Bay Continental Food Market (on the corner of Camps Bay Drive and Rottingdean Road).
The other option is Bootlegger Coffee Shop in Bakoven or somewhere on the Camps Bay Strip opposite the beach.
If you are cycling from the city, you can start at the boom in Camps Bay Drive, which is more or less opposite the top of Geneva Drive. Cycle through the boom and follow that jeep track all the way and turn right at the T-junction which leads to the boom in Theresa Avenue. Exit at the boom and turn left into Theresa Avenue.
