On Sunday I had a call from a couple who had just landed in Cape Town. They had supposedly made a booking for our two bedroom  Lion’s View penthouse apartment in Camps Bay with an agent, SL Property Group. The agent was not at the airport to collect them as promised and unfortunately we had never heard of their reservation and the agent had disappeared with their full payment.

When booking a villa or apartment in Camps Bay, please be sure to check the agent’s credentials and how long they have been operating. This agent did not have a website and therefore no credentials, land line etc.

You know the saying: if it seems too good to be true, it is too good to be true. If they had enquired with us directly we would have informed them that we were fully booked and that our rack rate is R3900 per night.  This agent was not just offering them availability but a rate of +/- R1000 per night for a 5 star, two bedroom penthouse with a private pool, walking distance to Camps Bay beach and the village.

Our penthouse apartment at Lion’s View is fully booked until the end of April 2014 but we are offering special rates for the next few months after that.  Our 5 star, five bedroom villa at Lion’s View however is available from 17 March to 12 April @ R8250 per night.
