I started going to Burrata long before I met the owner on a Camps Bay Watch patrol. In the pursuit of the perfect pizza, Barry studied the art of pizza making in New York. They import their flour from Napoli and it definitely has a different taste to South African pizza. Burrata is a fresh Italian cheese, made from mozzarella and cream.

We used to eat pizza at Carlyle on Derry in Vredehoek every Tuesday after the Block House Mountain Bike Challenge. I haven’t done the time trial for a couple of years but I still enjoy their pizza. Try the parma ham and rocket pizza. Wheat free pizza’s available on request.

Andiamo means “let’s go” in Italian. In summer Andiamo has a great atmosphere sitting outside on the square in De Waterkant. During winter they usually have a special of “Get 2 pizzas or 2 pastas, or one of each, for +/- R 100 on Mondays and Tuesdays”. Their specialty is the Bolognese Pizza with bolognese, mozzarella & cherry tomatoes.
