The drive from Cape Town International Airport to Camps Bay takes about 30 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic. You have two main options: Uber or the MyCiti bus.
Uber
Follow the signs for the “E-hailing pick up area.” This leads to Parkade 1. As you enter the parkade, your Uber will collect you on the right hand side.
On your way to Parkade 1, some taxi drivers will try to persuade you that they are an Uber service. They are not. Stick to the signed route and wait for your actual Uber at the pickup point.
MyCiti Bus
Follow the signs to the MyCiti bus stop, in front of the airport. You will need to buy a card and top it up with the amount you think you will need for your stay.
A few things to know before you go this route:
- Bus tickets cannot be topped up once you are on the bus.
- Bus drivers will not let you board without credit already loaded on your card.
- The airport MyCiti bus only goes as far as the city. To reach Camps Bay, you will need to change buses once you arrive in the city.
Which option should you choose?
Uber is the simpler option, especially after a long flight, since it takes you directly to Camps Bay without a change. The MyCiti bus is a cheaper option if you do not mind the extra step of changing buses in the city.
