Getting fit with the Camps Bay & Clifton Stairs/Steps

The beauty of Camps Bay is a great motivator to be outside and to keep fit. We are very lucky to be able to run, walk or cycle next to the ocean or hike on the mountain above Camps Bay. There is also a yoga studio, tennis courts, squash courts, bicycles to rent, a tidal pool etc. We are able to recommend private yoga, pilates or fitness instructors to our guests who rent our apartments and villas in Camps Bay. As gyms are not the preferred place to exercise at this moment and Summer has arrived, we can recommend running up and down all the different stairs in Camps Bay and Clifton. Most of the stairs are about the height of at least a 4 storey building. Running up and down stairs is a fantastic lower body work-out and works your quads, glutes and calves. Alternate between single step running and double step training (stretch those legs, take 2 steps at a time and pump your arms).

These stairs are accessible from near the corner of Houghton Road and Camps Bay Drive at the top and then near 125 Victoria Road, Bakoven at the bottom.
Camps Bay Nature Park Steps
At the Clifton 3rd Beach Myciti Bus Stop, these steps go up to Camps Bay High School. It is a short flight of stars but the park is also a great place to exercise.

Right opposite The Clifton, 60 Victoria Road.
37 Victoria Road, above Clifton 2nd beach. This is probably the most famous stairs for exercising. If you like to show off or hang with others – this is the place to be. There are 301 stairs.
