I am not very good with quantities, so probably shouldn’t be typing out recipes – but here is a fabulous hummus recipe.
Take a tin of chickpeas or already cooked chickpeas and boil in a half a teaspoon bicarb of soda. This will cause the chickpeas to become very soft.
Crush a couple of cloves of garlic and pour freshly squeezed lemon juice over – at least one lemon. This is so that there is a less severe raw garlic taste.
Liquidize the chickpeas, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, a couple of table spoons of ice cold water and tahini.
When it is the right consistency pour a packet of Woolworths pickled peppers in and liquidize.
