My tennis partner, Melanie told me about the Supper Club on Thursday evening at the newly opened, Borage. The owner is a friend of hers and worked at the Fat Duck.
I loved the modern minimalistic look of the restaurant with a lot of grey, oversized lamps and communal tables.
All the guests were young and cool and I was so impressed with the food: delicious and beautifully presented.
The three course meal kicked off with a delectable beetroot, orange and prawn salad. For main course we had fish, roast potatoes and caponata, a Sicilian eggplant dish, with celery and capers in a sweet and sour sauce. For dessert they served Chocolate Mousse with a delightful surprise of caramel crumbs.
I highly recommend Borage for everyone looking for an excellent meal and friendly and efficient service. They are situated in the new Portside Building, shop 7B on the ground floor on the corner of Buitengracht and Hans Strydom Avenue, Cape Town. They are only open during the day at the moment and closed on Mondays. To make a reservation call 021 418 0992.
