Cycling the Camino Portugues: Viana Do Castello to Ankora
After eating half the breakfast buffet, I set off at 10am. Another amazing cycle through farm roads, forests, small lanes etc. My challenge was to get my bike up the subway stairs leaving Viana Do Castelo and up some rocks in the forest, my bike is like an overweight, stubborn mule when it needs to be lifted.
My friends for the day were two lovely lady hikers from California. I liked them instantly as they refered to me as the tuff girl on the bike who they saw the day before. I felt that I had very low energy levels with a sore butt, so it was nice to hear.
Ankora is a beach town with a square, beautful church
I stayed at the Vila Praia Apartamentos Turisticos. Nice and cheap!
