Wednesday, what is happening in and around Cape Town: FEAST WITH BOSCHENDAL FARM ON HERITAGE WEEKEND


It’s all out feasting at Boschendal Farm this Heritage weekend with activities to entertain the whole family.

On Heritage Day, Thursday, 24 September, up to 200 guests will sit down to an Ox-on-a-Spit, platters heaped with seasonal produce, great wine and live music by local band Slow Jack,  all at a long table running the length of the historic Werf. Executive Chef Christiaan Campbell and his team are joining in the “Braai Day” fun with this nose-to-tail menu which makes full use of the farm’s own pasture fed Black Angus cattle, carefully dry aged to perfection.  The cost is R295 for adults and R85 for kids under 12.

On Saturday, 26 September you’re invited to spend the afternoon (from 12h30)  on the lawns at the Olive Press with live music by the Jesse Jordan Band.  Tickets are R200 per adult and R175 for 12-18 year olds.  Under 12’s enter free.   The ticket price includes R150 worth of coupons to be exchanged for farm fresh eats from the stalls and drinks like wine, bubbly, beer, juices and cold drinks.   Guests are welcome to bring blankets or fold-up chairs.  No BYO food and drinks.

The more energetic can sign up for “Ride and Roast” on the 24th which includes a mountain bike trail in the morning and then stay over for the family lunch time feast.  On Saturday morning, start off with “Run and Rock” by doing a trail run on Boschendal Farm before the afternoon’s music event.  The “Ride & Roast” and “Run & Rock” Packages can be booked  by visiting

On Saturday and Sunday, Boschendal is participating in “Franschhoek Uncorked” with wine tastings, gourmet burgers, hot dogs and live music by Palm Strings at the Cellar Door Tasting Centre.
